Job summary

Bend Park and Recreation District is seeking a Seasonal Facilities Specialist 1 to perform semi-skilled facility maintenance, operate the Zamboni, sharpen skates, and assist as a rink monitor and skate rental support.

You will maintain the ice sheet and equipment, help with event setup, follow safety protocols, and work a rotating schedule including weekends. This temporary/full-time role requires a high school diploma and 2 years in park services or related field.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2 years of park services or related experience preferred.
• Oregon driver’s license within 30 days of hire and clean driving history as per policy.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends/evenings and report for duty as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate ice resurfacer (Zamboni), edger and related equipment to maintain the ice sheet.
• Maintain rental skate inventory and perform minor repairs.
• Assist with skate rentals, set-up/clean-up, scorekeeping, and event support.
• Ensure safe operation of equipment and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Provide guidance to facility users and respond to safety issues promptly.
• Work under supervision and follow standard processes while escalating significant decisions.
