Bend Park & Recreation District is seeking a Seasonal Facilities Specialist 1 to perform semi-skilled facility maintenance and operate ice-related equipment, including the Zamboni, while overseeing public skate activities and assisting with events.
Responsibilities include ice maintenance, skate rentals, and general site support. The role requires safety awareness, good communication, and the ability to work a set schedule including early mornings and potential overnight ice building work.

The Seasonal Facilities Specialist 1 is responsible for performing semi-skilled facility maintenance and projects. This position will be operating the Zamboni, sharpening skates, filling in as a Rink Monitor and had out skates to the public.
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Start date: October 6, 2026.
All staff training: October 8, 2026
Ice building: October 12-21 (overnight work)
Typical Weekly Schedule:
Tuesday: 8:00am-2:00pm
Wednesday: 4:30am-10:30am
Thursday: 4:30am-10:30am
Friday: 8:00am-2:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am-2:00pm
This position is the backup for the other opening staff on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and may be asked to work 4:30-10:30am on those days if needed.
Works under the direction of a supervisor. Follows standard processes and procedures without supervision but confirms changes to standard practices and significant decisions in advance.
Supervision is not normally a responsibility of this classification.
