Job summary

Chesterfield Hockey Association Inc. is seeking a reliable, seasonal rink attendant to manage the facility with minimal supervision. You’ll help maintain a clean, safe ice center, greet patrons, handle inquiries, sharpen skates, and assist with equipment and tasks during hockey season.

Flexibility to work nights and weekends is required; full training will be provided. This role offers hands-on experience in a community rink and opportunities to learn ice operations and customer service.

Qualifications

• Must work well in a team environment.
• Must be highly motivated to learn new skills essential for rink operation (ice resurfacing, ice edging).
• Must supervise and direct rink attendants.
• Must solve problems as they arise and work without supervision.
• Must interact well with participants and staff, even under stress.

Responsibilities

• Keep all facility areas neat, clean and safe (restrooms, locker rooms, lobby, bleachers, etc.).
• Ensure entrances are clear of debris and snow.
• Provide excellent customer service and greet patrons.
• Handle phone inquiries courteously.
• Sharpen skates (full training provided).
• Sell rink-related items (tape, laces, mouth guards).
• Process cash receipts accurately and complete reports.
• Operate the scoreboard (training provided).
• Open/close the facility following security procedures.
• Be available to work nights and weekends.
