Seasonal HR Assistant

About the Role
The HR Assistant plays a central role in fostering a welcoming and engaging workplace culture. This position blends administrative responsibilities with plenty of face-to-face interaction, offering the opportunity to work with employees across all areas of the resort. Whether you're helping a new hire get started, answering employee questions, coordinating hiring efforts, or supporting team events and initiatives, you'll be part of the energy and excitement that make working at Gunstock unique.
Responsibilities
Employee Services Support
- Greet and assist employees visiting the Employee Services Office and provide responsive, professional support for routine questions and needs.
- Assist with distribution and tracking of employee items such as staff IDs, employee passes, benefit passes, vouchers, payroll checks, uniform-related items, name badges, and other seasonal materials.
- Support HR office coverage, phone and email follow-up, employee communications, filing, data entry, and other daily administrative tasks.
- Help maintain accurate employee records and confidential HR documents in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist with seasonal employee services activities, including preparation for orientation sessions, employee check-ins, and end-of-season closeout processes.
Recruitment and Onboarding Support
- Support seasonal recruitment activities by assisting with applicant communication, interview scheduling, candidate follow-up, and hiring process coordination.
- Assist with background check, reference check, and pre-employment process tracking as directed by the HR team.
- Prepare onboarding materials, new hire paperwork, orientation packets, employee files, name badges, and other materials needed for a successful first day.
- Help enter, review, and maintain employee information with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Provide support during new hire orientation and onboarding sessions, including check-in, document collection, materials distribution, and employee questions.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Excel, Teams, and cloud-based file management, plus experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems; ability to learn new technology quickly in a fast-paced, employee-focused environment.
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly, professional communication style.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy seasonal environment.
- Comfort working with confidential information and employee records.
- Previous administrative, customer service, human resources, recruitment, or onboarding experience preferred.
Schedule: Seasonal position beginning in October and continuing through early April. Expected schedule is approximately 30-40 hours per week, with flexibility needed during peak hiring, onboarding, and winter operations periods.
