Job summary

The Oregon Department of Transportation is seeking a Highway Maintenance Specialist (Seasonal) for the Lake of the Woods crew in Klamath Falls. You will operate a range of heavy and light equipment to maintain roadways, assist with weather-related emergencies, and perform pothole repairs and drainage maintenance.

The position lasts about 6 months from hire, includes on-site housing if available, and requires eligibility for CDL-A and a valid driving record.

Qualifications

• One year of highway maintenance experience.
• Two years of landscaping, maintenance, mechanical, farming, logging, and/or construction experience or training.
• CDL-A with tanker endorsement within 30 days of hire.
• Valid U.S. driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy and light equipment to maintain and repair road surfaces.
• Assist with weather-related emergencies and snow removal operations.
• Perform pothole filling, concrete patches and minor inlay work.
• Maintain drainage, fences, barriers and milepost markers.
• Respond to emergencies after storms and incidents.
