Job summary

Oregon Department of Transportation is seeking a Seasonal Highway Maintenance Specialist to join the Lake of the Woods crew in Klamath Falls. This on-site, six-month assignment includes housing options and opportunities to work with a dedicated maintenance team.

You will operate a range of heavy and light equipment, perform repairs, assist with emergencies, and support traffic control as needed. CDL-A with tanker endorsement and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• One year of highway maintenance experience.
• Or two years of general maintenance, landscaping, or construction experience.
• CDL-A with tanker endorsement within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy and light equipment to maintain and repair roadways, bridges and structures.
• Assist with weather-related emergencies and plow snow when required.
• Perform pothole repair, patching, and minor inlay work.
• Clear debris, mow grass, and spray roadside vegetation.
• Maintain drainage systems and repair culverts and barriers.
• Perform routine tool and equipment maintenance.
• Possess ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work in various weather.
