The Oregon Department of Transportation is seeking a Highway Maintenance Specialist (Seasonal) for the Chiloquin area to operate equipment, maintain roadways, and respond to emergencies. This six-month seasonal role offers benefits, a steady schedule and opportunities to serve Oregon's traveling public.

You will work with a maintenance crew in Delivery and Operations Division – Region 4; CDL-A is required, tanker endorsement within 30 days, and a valid license.

Competenze

• One year of experience performing basic highway maintenance work.
• Two years of general landscaping, maintenance, mechanical, farming, logging, and/or construction experience or training.
• CDL-A required with tanker endorsement within 30 days of hire.

Mansioni

• Respond to weather emergencies and operate snowplows and deicer trucks to clear roadways.
• Operate heavy and light equipment to maintain and repair surfaces.
• Perform minor surface repairs including pothole patching and small inlay work.
• Maintain drainage systems, fences, guardrails and milepost markers.
• May be required to work after hours for emergency or weather-related purposes.
