Job summary

The Oregon Department of Transportation is seeking a Seasonal Highway Maintenance Specialist to join the Chiloquin maintenance crew. You will operate snowplows, deicer trucks, and other equipment to keep roadways safe, perform repairs, and assist with emergency cleanup after storms and incidents.

Qualifications

• CDL-A required with tanker endorsement within 30 days of hire.
• Valid U.S. driver license and clean driving record.
• Experience with road maintenance or heavy equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to weather-related emergencies and operate snowplows and deicer trucks.
• Operate heavy and light equipment to maintain and repair roadways.
• Perform pothole and concrete patching and small inlay work.
• Maintain drainage systems and mend fences, guardrails, and milepost markers.
• May be required to work after hours or on weekends for emergency calls.
