Job summary

Atlanta Botanical Garden in Gainesville, GA is seeking a part-time Guest Experience Associate for Gainesville Glows, our winter display event. You will assist with ticketing, admission, will-call, gift shop sales and merchandise carts, delivering friendly, guest-facing service.

Ideal candidates have retail or customer service experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.

Part‑time Description

Gainesville Glows transforms the Gainesville Garden into a winter wonderland featuring sparkling light displays, interactive installations, festive experiences and larger‑than‑life displays throughout the woodland.

The Gainesville Glows Guest Experience Associate is a part‑time seasonal team member supporting ticketing sales, admission to the event, will call tickets, gift shop sales, merchandise cart sales and various other duties. This is a customer‑facing role requiring flexibility, initiative, and a positive attitude.

This position is a part‑time temporary position that will start early November and may continue through January 5th.

Open Interviews

• September 17th, 3pm – 7pm
• September 18th, 10am – 2pm
• October 29th, 3pm -7pm
• October 30th, 10am – 2pm

Required Training: November 9th, 12th, and 17th (Daytime)

Exhibit debuts: November 18th

Pay: $15/hour

Key Responsibilities

• Greet arriving guests
• Maintain orderly lines
• Scan tickets

• Process all admission Point of Sale (POS) transactions and functions
• Promote and actively sell annual garden memberships
• Assist guests with Gift Shop purchases both inside and outside from the merchandise carts
• Answer guest questions

Requirements

• Preferred 1 year of retail experience
• Strong customer service skills; experience working in a customer-focused capacity
• Flexibility of schedule to work shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Experience with POS systems preferred
• Multi-tasking and organizational abilities
• Basic math and computer skills required

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand/walk 90% of time
• Position requires visual acuity to read details presented on a computer screen
• Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and card swipe reader
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
