Salt Lake City is seeking a Groundskeeper Seasonal to maintain city-owned grounds, parks, trails, cemeteries, and recreation facilities. The role involves mowing, aerating, weeding, and general grounds care, with duties including restroom cleaning and debris removal.

The position supports park projects, sprinkler inspections, and operation of lawn equipment; experience with landscaping and equipment is preferred. Works up to 20 hours weekly in a part-time arrangement.

Formación

• Experience in maintenance and landscaping.
• Experience working for a city municipal park.
• Experience operating light or heavy-duty equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Performs a variety of duties to maintain city-owned grounds, parks, trails, cemeteries, open spaces and recreation facilities, including mowing, aerating and weeding turf; cleaning restrooms; picking up trash; raking leaves; clearing sidewalks; and removing debris.
• Assists with park-related projects such as laying sod, reseeding and planting flowers and trees and inspecting and adjusting sprinkler systems.
• Operates handheld and light mechanical equipment including mowers, sweepers, blowers and other grounds maintenance equipment; may operate heavy landscaping equipment not requiring a CDL.
• Maintains and repairs equipment to ensure proper operation and safe, efficient use.
• Assists in mixing and applying fertilizers, herbicides and other chemicals for turf and landscaped areas.
• Assists in preparing ball fields, parks and picnic areas when reserved by the public.
• Inspects and cleans areas where unauthorized camping has occurred to make them presentable for use.
• May work with County Health Department and other City staff regarding encampments.
