Job summary

Spanish Fork City is seeking an All-abilities Park Caretaker to perform seasonal maintenance in city parks and facilities. You will manage turf, plantings, irrigation adjustments, and routine repairs while enforcing park rules and ensuring the public’s safety and enjoyment.

The role requires physical work, reliability, and the ability to work with others or independently. Shifts include weekends and afternoons/evenings in the spring through fall, with a focus on keeping parks inviting for all

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older and have prior experience in parks maintenance or related field.
• Must be able to speak English.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to operate landscape maintenance tools and equipment safely.
• Good communication and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance of city parks and grounds (turf grass, flowers, shrubs, trees).
• Maintain grounds, clean facilities and restrooms, and collect trash.
• Keep parks aesthetically pleasing and enforce park rules.
• Supervise park patrons and ensure rules are followed.
• Lock up restrooms and park facilities; manage irrigation adjustments.
• Operate hand and power tools and equipment; perform minor repairs.
• Respond to assignments from lead worker and supervisor; work weekends/holidays as required.
