The DeLong Co., Inc. is seeking a Grain Scale Operator in Illinois to manage scale operations, assist with grading and sampling, and maintain accurate grain accounting records. You will interact with customers, process inbound and outbound shipments, and ensure data is captured precisely for each grading activity.
This full-time seasonal role requires strong communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to work a structured schedule with extra hours during peak harvest periods.
The Grain Scale Operator’s responsibilities involve scale operations, customer service, communications, clerical tasks, basic grain accounting and other duties as assigned. Operator is responsible for all commodity inbound and outbound tasks and assisting with grain grading and sampling tasks. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. It is important to represent the company in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times when providing exceptional customer service.

This is a full-time seasonal position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours. Additional hours are mandatory during peak seasons.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
