Job summary

The DeLong Co., Inc. seeks a Grain Scale Operator to handle scale operations, assist with grain grading, and maintain accurate records for inbound and outbound shipments.

The role requires strong customer service and communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work a full-time seasonal schedule including peak periods. Some overtime may be required during harvest.

Qualifications

• Provide outstanding customer service skills at all times when greeting and servicing customers.
• Record test data such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded.
• Assist with grain grading and sampling tasks as needed.
• Coordinate and verify delivery numbers and daily inputs for accuracy.

• Operates on-scale interface system and transfer of data.

Operator is responsible for all commodity inbound and outbound tasks and assisting with grain grading and sampling tasks. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. It is important to represent the company in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times when providing exceptional customer service.

Operator is responsible for all commodity inbound and outbound tasks and assisting with grain grading and sampling tasks. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. A seasonal bonus may be provided based on attendance and performance at the end of the completed harvest season.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time seasonal position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours. Additional hours are mandatory during peak seasons.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
