Job summary

FS GRAIN in Northern Illinois is seeking a dedicated elevator operator to manage grain handling, safety, maintenance, rolling stock and customer service under the direction of the Facility Manager.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, willingness to learn grain handling, basic mechanical knowledge, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel overnight when necessary; the job may require extended hours and on-call availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or related agricultural experience.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to learn grain handling and mechanical maintenance.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to travel overnight when necessary.
• Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming, stored, and outgoing grain while maintaining quality.
• Perform grain drying and blending as needed and provide housekeeping for grain handling.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and state/federal safety regulations and maintain equipment appearance.
• Provide professional customer service ensuring a pleasant experience for customers.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
