Job summary

FS GRAIN in Northern Illinois is hiring for a grain elevator operator responsible for handling incoming, stored, and outgoing grain, ensuring quality, blending, and drying services. The role includes safety compliance, housekeeping, and customer service to ensure a positive experience for customers.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or related agricultural experience, with the ability to work independently or in a team, basic computer skills, a valid driver’s license, and

Qualifications

• Normally requires a high school diploma and/or experience in a related agricultural field.
• Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Understanding and willingness to learn grain handling.
• Understanding and experience with mechanical diagnosis, service, repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of equipment and vehicles.
• Preferred basic computer skills and the ability to use the computer to enhance grain handling.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and have the ability to travel independently and overnight when necessary.
• Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming, stored, and outgoing grain and maintain grain quality, blending, and drying services.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment and facilities while ensuring OSHA and regulatory compliance.
• Provide professional customer service delivering a pleasant experience for customers.
• Maintain company equipment according to standards and adhere to the Uniform Policy and professional image.
