Job summary

Scholastic Inc. is hiring a Part-Time Seasonal Power Equipment Operator/Cherry-Picker at our Roselle, IL distribution center. The role runs 9am-1pm with a pay of $17.00 per hour and includes a 50% discount on Scholastic merchandise and a 401(k) plan.

The position requires operating power equipment, following safety rules, and maintaining inventory accuracy while supporting the local branch team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
• Must be trained and licensed to operate power equipment.
• Requires forklift training.
• Ability to demonstrate basic product scanner proficiency.
• Strong team player and ability to get along with co-workers.
• Good verbal/written communication skills, basic math, and ability to read English documents.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Follow power equipment safety rules and OSHA policies.
• Wear PPE and operate order/stock pickers safely.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and safe handling of merchandise.
• Perform scanner functions: replenishment, cycle counts, item inquiry, put away.
• Keep product area neat, safe, and organized.
• Assist with seasonal inventory and warehouse events.
• Help with loading/unloading trucks when needed.
