Job description

Rodale Institute is seeking Seasonal Farm Laborers to join our team at our St. Luke's-Rodale Institute Organic Farm in Easton, PA.

The St. Luke's Organic Farm is a partnership between the Rodale Institute and the St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN) to create an innovative farm-to-hospital model. Our farm grows annual and perennial crops using organic techniques and provides CSA & wholesale orders to the SLUHN. Applicants are encouraged to have prior agricultural and/or holistic health experience, although not required. This position is best for individuals who are prepared to work full-time in a professional farming environment. Seasonal Workers report directly to the Farm Manager.

Responsibilities include:

1. Execute day-to-day farm operations
2. Greenhouse duties: seeding, watering, plant care
3. Field work: weeding, pruning, plasticulture, row cover, transplanting, harvesting
4. Facilities: repairing infrastructure, sanitation, compost, event preparation, landscaping
5. Packhouse duties: washing, sorting, packing
6. Maintain equipment, tools, and spaces to be functional
7. Irrigation installation, maintenance, removal
8. Organic pest management
9. Harvesting produce
10. Follow all food safety protocols
11. Keep records of all farm activities to be submitted daily

Qualifications:

1. Able to operate equipment safely, training will be provided
2. Able to work independently, in a team, and lead farm tasks
3. Able to adapt to repetitive tasks & the demanding changes of the farm
4. Able to lift 50 lbs., and be on feet for 8 hours a day
5. Willing to engage with a dynamic & practical learning environment
6. Willing to work in all weather conditions
7. Valid Driver's License

Schedule:

1. 40+ hours per week
2. Monday - Friday with rotating weekend shifts
3. March through October 2025
