Job summary

Eataly Flatiron seeks a Seasonal Events and Education Associate to guide guests through shopping decisions by sharing the stories behind products and offering pairing suggestions. You will contribute to a vibrant cafe experience and support events and tastings with enthusiasm.

You'll develop product knowledge through training, engage guests with Italian cuisine and beverages, and collaborate with multiple teams to ensure guests receive memorable service during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Italian food and beverage.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building.

Responsibilities

• Respond courteously to guest inquiries regarding availability and offerings.
• Listen actively to understand guests' needs and preferences; suggest food and beverage items.
• Develop knowledge of Eataly products via live/video training and product library.
• Share daily/monthly product updates with Eataly teams.
• Prepare and execute product tastings and demonstrations.
• Coordinate with Buying, Private Events and PR teams and pass along information.
• Assist with events (feste and sagre) and tours for guests.
• Circulate store to ensure carts are available in designated areas.
• Open/close cash till and ensure accurate transaction accounting during shifts.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Description

An Events & Education Associate assists guests with making educated and confident shopping decisions through sharing the stories of the people and places behind Eataly’s products as well as advising on food and beverage pairings. Reports to the Events and Storytelling Manager.

• Responds courteously to guest inquiries regarding availability, usage of products, the range of services, restaurant offerings, classes at Eataly’s Chef’s Table, recipe help and location of products throughout the market
• Listens actively and asks questions to understand guests’ needs and preferences; recommends food and beverage items
• Develops comprehensive knowledge of Eataly’s products through diligent participation in live and video training and active use of Eataly’s product library
• Communicates daily/monthly new information to Eataly teams
• Prepares and executes product tastings and demonstrations
• Interacts with Eataly teams and vendors, passing information on to Eataly’s Buying, Private Events and Public Relations teams
• Assists with events, such as feste and sagre, and tours for guests
• Circulates store regularly to ensure shopping carts are always available in designated areas
• Opens and closes cash till and ensures an accurate accounting of all transactions, collections and disbursements during the work shift
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of and passion for Italian food and beverage
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills
• Outgoing personality and ability to sell
• Retail and/or restaurant experience preferred

Job Requirements

• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting

The range for this position is $17-$21/hr
