Job summary

Eataly, based in New York, seeks a seasonal Server to coordinate service operations, greet guests, and relay orders to kitchen and bar staff. The role emphasizes guest engagement, menu knowledge, and efficient station management in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will handle wine service, assist with station upkeep, and support cash register operations while complying with safety and service standards. Seasonal position for fall to winter holiday period.

Responsibilities

• Assist with stocking stations and resetting used dishes/silverware.
• Assist at the cash register at counter-service restaurants.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Description

A Server coordinates the entire service station and communicates with front of the house and back of the house personnel to provide a dining experience that exceeds guest expectations. Reports to the Restaurant Manager.

• Greets guests and presents them with the menu
• Informs guests of specials, menu changes, answers questions regarding food, beverages and allergies
• Receives food and beverage orders from guests and relays to kitchen staff and bartender using a POS system
• Communicates with the hosts, table support team, kitchen staff and bartenders to coordinate stations
• Presents, opens and pours wine and beer when serving guests
• Assists table support team with stocking work stations, removing and resetting used dishes/silverware
• Assists with cash register at counter-service restaurants
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Knowledge of the sequence of service and dining room procedures
• Basic math skills

Job Requirements

• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting

Compensation: This position pays a base rate of $17.00 per hour, minus a $5.65 tip credit plus tips.

*This is a SEASONAL position starting mid October and ending first week of January
