Job summary

Haffner’s is seeking a delivery driver to safely and efficiently deliver fuel oil, diesel and propane for customers. The role covers daily routes, safety compliance, and contacting office staff as needed.

Requires a CDL with hazmat/tanker endorsements, DOT medical card, and ability to pass drug testing. Flexible schedule including weekends may be required; starting hourly pay ranges from $27 to $35.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of petroleum or propane delivery experience preferred.
• Commercial Driver’s License, Class A or B, with hazmat, tanker, and air brake endorsements.
• Valid DOT medical certificate.
• Ability to drive a standard-shift transmission.
• Ability to pass company-provided drug test, alcohol test, and physical.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, overtime, and on call shifts.
• Experience with regulatory agency requirements (e.g. DOT, HazMat, OSHA, FMCSA).
• Licensing and certifications as applicable (e.g. CETP delivery modules for propane).
• Proficient in the use of Android tablets and web-based software applications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver distillates and propane safely and efficiently as directed by the distribution office team.
• Perform return-to-service duties including leak checks and relighting of propane appliances and priming/starting oil systems.
• Maintain daily communication with the office and managers.
• Inspect and maintain delivery trucks (pre-trip inspections, paperwork, cleaning, meters).
• Submit accurate reports and customer payments; participate in safety and operations meetings.
• Support in off-season tasks such as fleet reconditioning, meter reading, tank setting, and property maintenance.
