The Salvation Army in Suffolk, VA is seeking a seasonal driver to operate a company vehicle for bell ringing and Angel Tree pickups. You will transport passengers and kettles, load and secure equipment, and ensure on-time arrivals while following safety rules.
Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid state driver’s license, and at least two years of driving experience with adherence to DOT regulations. You will work under seasonal pay class with mileage logs maintained.
Schedule/Hours: Seasonal; schedule and weekly hours as assigned.
This position is responsible for:
Drives a Salvation Army vehicle to transport passengers and Red Kettle equipment to bell-ringing locations and to pick up and deliver Angel Tree donations and other items as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides transportation for bell ringers to kettle sites and the Corps.
Picks up Angel Tree donations from various sites for transport to the warehouse and delivers miscellaneous items as needed.
Drives carefully and complies with traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure passenger safety; parks safely and secures the vehicle when not in use.
Fuels the vehicle in accordance with state regulations and The Salvation Army standards and maintains accurate mileage logs.
Arrives at destinations according to schedule, communicates severe delays, and maintains control of passenger activities to promote safe conduct.

Two years’ experience operating an automotive vehicle OR
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
