Job summary

The Salvation Army in Richmond, VA is seeking a Seasonal Full Time Driver to support bell ringing operations. The role involves transporting bell ringers, collecting and delivering donations, and supporting warehouse logistics during the Christmas season.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and at least two years of driving experience. Must be able to drive safely in urban and highway conditions and work a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week).

Qualifications

• Two years' experience operating an automotive vehicle or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Provides transportation for bell ringers to kettle sites and the Corps.
• Picks up Angel Tree donations from various sites for transport to the warehouse.
• Picks up and delivers miscellaneous items as needed.
• Drives carefully and observes traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure passenger safety.
• fuels vehicle per state regulations and organizational standards.
• Maintains control of passenger activities and enforces safety and conduct guidelines.

Job Location: PMC-Central Virginia Area Command - Richmond, VA, Position Type: Seasonal Full Time, Education Level: High School Diploma/GED, Salary Range: $13.77 - $16.00Hourly, Travel Percentage: Up to 50% , Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Christmas, Schedule/Hours: M - F 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week)

This position is responsible for

• Provides transportation for bell ringers to kettle sites and the Corps.
• Picks-up Angel Tree donations from various sites for transport to warehouse.
• Picks-up and delivers miscellaneous items as needed.
• Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.
• Fuels vehicle in accordance with state gasoline regulations and The Salvation Army standards.
• Maintains control of passenger activities by prohibiting unsafe or non-Christian behavior.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Ability to drive a vehicle in heavy traffic and extended trips.
• Work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with long distance trips or heavy traffic.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
