Job summary

Cutwater Spirits in San Diego is seeking a Seasonal Cook to join the kitchen team. The role requires preparing a variety of foods according to recipes, while maintaining quality and a fast-paced service standard.

The position is part-time with night and weekend availability, and a season-end date of 12/30/26. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of restaurant kitchen experience. A Food Handler’s certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years prior restaurant kitchen experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meats, seafood, poultry and vegetables using a variety of kitchen equipment and techniques.
• Know and comply with portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
• Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service for our guests.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work station.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff and management to maintain effective product flow.
• Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
• Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
• Opens and closes the kitchen stations properly, assists others and following checklists.
• Understands and follows proper rules of hygiene and food safety measures.
• Embraces and fulfills the core values and culture of Cutwater Spirits.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Working knowledge of food and beverage industry – back of house operations.
• Ability to manage responsibilities in a high-demand, fast-paced working environment.
• Ability to operate all equipment in the kitchen.
• Understanding of food properties and cooking methods.
• Able to follow detailed recipes and verbal instructions.
• Ability to maintain a Food Handler’s certification.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
