Responsibilities

• Cleans, clears debris, and cuts grass from all assigned areas including Bridge pits, Bridge approaches, catch basins, sidewalks, roads, and tunnels.
• Assists in general laboring work unrelated to paving operations.
• Assists in installation and repair of guide rails and chain-link fences with required equipment; prepares defective areas for patching using picks or other tools.
• Operates motorized vehicles and uses portable or towable power equipment as required in maintenance and operations.
• Cleans interior and exterior of vehicles, checks oil and fuel level, lights, horns, and brakes.
• May perform snow removal and assist in masonry work during sidewalk/construction projects.
• May direct traffic around large construction projects and work off-hours or weekends.
