Job summary

The Salvation Army Whittier Corps is seeking a Christmas Assistant (Temporary Full-Time) to support the Holiday Campaigns. You will assist with volunteers, toy drives, food drives, and donor solicitation, working with community partners and organizers to ensure smooth operations.

The role requires strong organizational and people skills, a valid California Driver’s License (preferred), and ability to handle multiple tasks during the busy season.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old, if Driving for TSA.
• Criminal background check required with Protect the Mission policies and procedures.
• Be neatly groomed.
• Be friendly, respectful, honest, and punctual.
• Minimum High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate well in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Corps Officers with Holiday Campaigns.
• Coordinate volunteers and volunteer drives for Christmas campaigns.
• Solicit donated food, toys and financial donations.
• Assist in data entry, money counting, and scheduling for the Red Kettle Campaign.
• May be required to assist in the sorting of food and toys.
