Job summary

Murray’s Cheese is seeking a detail-oriented Seasonal Sales Associate for Grand Central Station. You’ll assist with stocking, receiving products, and cashiering, while delivering outstanding service.

The role runs mid-October 2026 through mid-January 2027, with flexible weekend availability and opportunities to learn about cheese and specialty foods. You’ll greet customers, answer questions, help with purchases, and keep the shop organized and inviting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Full-time and flexible availability for weekends, holidays, opening, closing, and mid-day shifts.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills (register systems, inventory management).
• Previous experience in retail, customer service, or the food industry, with a preference for experience in cheese or specialty foods.
• Certifications: NYC Food Handler’s Certification or ServSafe preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers, provide product information and recommendations.
• Stock shelves and receive deliveries, ensure proper labeling and display.
• Handle cashiering, POS transactions, returns, and exchanges per policy.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop floor and workstations.
• Assist with inventory management and communicate stock needs to the team.
• Support events and special programs, and contribute to a positive customer experience.
