Job summary

Murray’s Cheese in New York, NY seeks a detail-oriented Seasonal Sales Associate for Grand Central. You’ll help stock, receive products, and cashier while delivering outstanding customer service and keeping the shop organized.

The role runs mid-October 2026 to mid-January 2027, with weekly pay and discounts on products, classes, and dining. Prior retail or food-industry experience is helpful, and NYC Food Handler or ServSafe is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills (register systems, inventory management).
• Previous experience in retail, customer service, or the food industry.
• Certifications: NYC Food Handler’s Certification or ServSafe preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage customers with enthusiasm, offering assistance and information about the products we carry.
• Provide recommendations based on customer preferences, promoting products and sharing knowledge about our cheeses, charcuterie, and other offerings.
• Assist customers with their purchases, ensuring a smooth and positive checkout experience.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.
• Receive deliveries and verify product accuracy, quality, and freshness.
• Stock shelves, organize products, and ensure proper rotation (FIFO) to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Operate the register, process sales transactions accurately (cash, credit, and debit card payments), and follow the cash-handling policy.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the shop, follow food safety protocols.
