Job summary

Murray’s Cheese in New York, NY seeks a seasonal Receiver to manage incoming goods and inventory for the retail store. You will inspect products, enter transfers in NetSuite, and ensure proper storage and record accuracy.

The role emphasizes physical tasks, basic math, and strong organization. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of receiving or inventory management experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect all incoming products, ensuring accuracy in quantity, quality, condition, and order specifications.
• Perform data entry for product transfers in and out using NetSuite and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Ensure proper storage of products at the correct temperatures, adhering to FIFO or LIFO standards.
• Communicate regularly with vendors, retail teams, and management via phone and email to resolve product discrepancies.
• Monitor product quality, including checking expiration dates and case conditions, and initiate credit requests when necessary.
• Participate in regular stock rotations and assist with inventory management, including monthly counts and product organization.
• Process invoices and make adjustments to invoice totals using basic math.
• Assist with stocking and organizing the back area of the store, ensuring efficient storage and easy access to products.
• Perform other duties as required to support the team and store operations.
