This is a seasonal position, beginning in spring and concluding towards the end of summer. The seasonal maintenance worker performs manual work including grounds maintenance, improvements, and assists with projects such as irrigation and landscaping. Performs basic facility and park repairs and other duties as required.
Must possess the required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience, and be able to demonstrate that the essential functions of the job can be performed, with or without reasonable accommodations. Other related duties may be assigned.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Mowing grass; operating a weed eater; planting, trimming, and edging shrubbery, trees, grass, and flowers; raking leaves; brush removal; chipping, and debris removal.
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and equipment including zero-turn mowers, push mowers, weed whackers, hedge clippers, and leaf blowers.
- Performing other duties as required.
Minimum job requirements:
- Must be a United States citizen.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be capable of performing all essential job functions.
- Available to work 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Ability to operate machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Must have the vision, hearing, ability, and dexterity to operate motorized vehicles, tools, and equipment; frequently stand, talk, hear, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and balance; lift up to 75 lbs., and move objects exceeding 75 lbs. by pulling, pushing, or rolling.
- Ability to perform tasks primarily outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
