Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Press Operator #1

• Unloads carts or pallets of pans from truck
• Positions carts or pallets of pans at the press
• Removes pans from carts or pallets and place them into the die on the press in a timely manner
• Operates the press
• Ensure the pans are being properly straightened and are not being damaged during the process
• Assists Press Operator #2, roll full baskets of pans to the deglaze tank line
• Checks the press daily to all criteria listed on the “daily inspection” sheet
• Notifies the plant manager, supervisor, or lead man of any problems with the straightening process
• Removes the die from the press after the production run is complete
• Reports any mechanical problems to the plant manager, supervisor or lead man immediately
• Reports any unsafe conditions to the plant manager, supervisor or lead man immediately
• Performs daily and weekly housekeeping duties
• Performs other job duties at such times as when there are no pans to remove from the glaze machine or as the plant manager, supervisor or lead man deem necessary
  
  
  

Press Operator #2

• Remove pans from the press after they have been straightened and place them in a basket in a timely manner
• Ensure the pans are being properly straightened and are not being damaged during the process
• Assists the Press Operator #1, remove the die from the press after the production run is complete
• Assists the Press Operator #1, roll full baskets of pans to the deglaze tank line
  
  
  

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, material safety data sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, company handbooks, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to regularly stand, walk up and down steps, bending and twisting at the waist, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle, or feels objects, bending at the elbow, reach overhead, lifting from the floor, turning of the head, looking up and down, pushing and pulling
• Safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, plant approved gloves, long pants, short or long sleeved shirts required. No tank tops or sleeveless shirts
• Must be able to lift and /or move more than 75 pounds
• UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES is anyone allowed to operate the press machine without knowledge and understanding of the duties and responsibilities required for the safe operation of this machine
