Job summary

BARNES & Noble College is seeking Seasonal Campus Store Team Members to deliver an exceptional retail experience on campus. You will greet customers, help locate course materials and supplies, handle transactions at the POS, and keep the sales floor organized and welcoming.

This role emphasizes teamwork, adaptability to busy periods, and a strong customer-focus consistent with Barnes & Noble College’s standards. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive shopping experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and teammates.
• Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable service.
• Assist customers in locating course materials, school supplies, apparel, gifts, and other merchandise.
• Operate the POS system to process cash, credit, and financial aid purchases.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor through merchandising and replenishment.
• Assist with inventory, receiving merchandise, order fulfillment, and other operational tasks.
• Develop product knowledge to confidently assist customers.
• Work with teammates to meet daily priorities in a fast-paced retail setting.
• Contribute to a clean and safe store environment that reflects the Barnes & Noble College brand.
