Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive shopping experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable service.
• Assist customers in locating course materials, school supplies, apparel, gifts, and other merchandise.
• Operate the point-of-sale system to process transactions (cash, credit, and financial aid).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked sales floor through merchandising and replenishment.
• Support inventory, receiving merchandise, order fulfillment, and other tasks to keep the store customer-ready.
• Develop product knowledge about merchandise, promotions, and course materials.
• Work collaboratively with teammates to meet daily priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Contribute to a clean, safe, and organized store reflecting the Barnes & Noble College brand.
