Mission Oaks Recreation & Park District is seeking a Program Lead to coordinate camp activities for children ages 3–12 in a safe, inclusive environment. You will mentor staff, design engaging programs, and ensure camper well-being while serving as the main contact for parents and staff.

The role starts in January 2027 with pre-summer training; hours vary seasonally, and compensation is $18 per hour. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring teamwork and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising camp counselors and Leaders in Training.
• Ability to design and lead age-appropriate camp programs for children 3-12.
• Strong communication with parents and staff.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and first aid.

Responsabilités

• Design and lead age-appropriate camp programs for children ages 3-12.
• Create weekly themes that are engaging and memorable.
• Plan and execute games, crafts, outdoor activities, and educational sessions.
• Prepares, leads, and participates in recreational activities for school-age children at a day camp location.
• Lead and supervise camp counselors and Leaders in Training.
• Provide training in age-appropriate counseling and activity facilitation.
• Coordinate staff schedules and ensure effective communication.
• Provide non-biased and fair direction to Junior Leaders, and act as a role model.
