Job summary

Galileo Learning, LLC is seeking a Camp Director for Mercer Island, WA, to lead a dynamic summer program serving K-8th graders. You will open, operate, and steward camp operations, managing a seasonal team and ensuring a safe, engaging, high-quality camper experience.

You will oversee preseason planning, daily operations, family communication, and staff development, while upholding Galileo’s mission and Innovation Approach across all activities and partnerships.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working directly with students in an education setting (out-of-school time, teaching, education administration, camps/recreation, etc.).
• Experience building safe, inclusive environments for children and fostering trust with families.

Responsibilities

• Lead camp launch and preseason planning through end-of-summer wrap-up.
• Oversee daily camp operations and parent communications while delivering an exceptional program.
• Train, mentor, and manage staff ranging 7–40 depending on site size; supervise payroll and scheduling.
• Build partnerships with families, facilities, and cross-functional teams; represent camp in the community.
