Job summary

Lakehouse Resort in San Marcos, CA, seeks a Seasonal Busser to support our dining room team during the busy holiday season. You will help ensure food is delivered promptly, clear glassware, reset tables, and assist servers to maintain a smooth, festive dining experience.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 months Front of House experience, holds RBS and Food Handlers certifications, and is comfortable standing for long periods, multitasking, and delivering friendly guest service.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of Front of House experience preferred.
• RBS and Food Handlers Certified.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Adept at being organized and able to multi-task.
• Dexterity in carrying multiple plates and trays.
• Energetic, positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Able to communicate with individuals from different backgrounds with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn the menu thoroughly and answer food-related questions from guests.
• Stand for extended periods.
• Can perform high quality work unsupervised.
• Able to lift and maneuver trays of food and other items.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Willingly perform other reasonable tasks and duties as assigned by Management.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a warm welcome and a fond farewell; engage them in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
• Provide exceptional guest hospitality and service to ensure guests enjoy their experience.
• Responsible for delivering food to the guests on time and accurately.
• Assist the expeditor in the final preparation of all dishes before leaving the kitchen.
• Assist the expeditor to check dishes for accuracy, presentation, and temperature based on guest requests.
• Transfer important information between the kitchen and FOH staff (e.g., special guest request, dish availability).
• Expert knowledge of the menu, able to answer guest questions and provide recommendations.
• Address and resolve guest complaints when possible; notify management ASAP about unresolved complaints.
• Assist servers with clearing and resetting tables while maintaining high sanitation standards.
• Fill water glasses, polish silver and glassware, and run food to tables.
• Always maintain a composed and professional attitude.
• Become familiar with returning guests and know their special requests and needs.

Seasonal Busser

Brickmans at The Links is the property’s main restaurant, welcoming guests from both The Links and the Lakehouse Hotel. We are seeking a Seasonal Busser to support our service team during the busy holiday season, when the restaurant is filled with festive gatherings and winter celebrations. In this role, you will ensure that food is delivered promptly and accurately from the kitchen to guest tables, helping maintain quality and a seamless dining experience. You will assist servers by clearing glassware, silverware, and plates, as well as resetting tables quickly and neatly in accordance with restaurant standards. By keeping the dining room organized and guest-ready, you will play an essential part in creating a smooth, enjoyable, and celebratory atmosphere throughout the holiday season.

The duties of a Seasonal Busser include, but are not limited to, the following:
