Job summary

Westwood High School, part of Mesa Public Schools, is seeking a Head Boys' Track Coach to lead, train, and mentor student-athletes. The role involves creating practice plans, developing game strategies, and ensuring health and safety in accordance with school policies.

Candidates must complete an online application with an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card, Coach Referral Form, and NFHS certificates. Prior coaching or playing experience is preferred; a high school diploma is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Certificate required.
• NFHS Concussion in Sports Certificate required.
• Playing experience preferred.
• Coaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead practices to improve individual and team performance.
• Develop game plans tailored to opponents.
• Foster sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork and balance academics with athletics.
• Maintain practice, game, and transportation schedules, records and evaluations.
• Enforce school and league rules for eligibility and safety.
• Communicate with parents, staff, booster club, and community members.
• Assist with other duties as appropriate to the area of assignment.
