Job summary

City of Marietta is seeking an on-site supervisor for the city's basketball league programs, stationed at Marietta City Schools locations and Custer Park Sports & Fitness Center. The role requires enforcing facility rules, coordinating schedules, and ensuring security of facilities and equipment.

Successful candidates must be pre-approved by the Marietta City School System, familiar with facility regulations, and able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Must be PRE-APPROVED by the Marietta City School System before beginning work.
• Must be familiar with the school facilities and the rules and regulations associated with the use of that facility.
• Knowledge of the rules and regulations of basketball.
• Knowledge of care and use of equipment and supplies.
• Ability to maintain discipline of a group including crowd control and to control recreation activities.
• Ability to accept responsibility and exercise judgment.
• Ability to interact with the public in an effective and courteous manner.
• Must be in good physical condition, with the ability to pass a physical exam at time of hire.
• Must be able to pass a thorough criminal background check and drug screen at time of hire.
• Work is performed in a gymnasium, normally standing or walking.

Responsibilities

• Acts as an onsite representative of the department's basketball league to enforce facility rules and policies at Marietta City Schools locations and Custer Park Sports & Fitness Center.
• Gathers and disseminates schedules, standings, game line-ups and other information.
• Works with on-site staff to ensure that the facility and equipment are secure before leaving, including unlocking and locking as needed.
• Work locations include Marietta City Schools locations and Custer Park Sports & Fitness Center.
• Performs other related duties as required.
