Job summary

City of Marietta, GA is seeking seasonal on-site staff to serve as a representative of the department’s basketball league, enforcing facility rules at Marietta City Schools locations and Custer Park Sports & Fitness Center.

Responsibilities include gathering schedules, ensuring security of facilities and equipment, unlocking/locking, and coordinating with staff. Must pass background check, drug screen, and be in good physical condition.

Qualifications

• Must be familiar with school facilities and rules for use of those facilities.
• Knowledge of basketball rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of care and use of equipment and supplies.
• Ability to maintain discipline of a group including crowd control and to control recreation activities.
• Ability to interact with the public in an effective and courteous manner.
• Must be in good physical condition, with the ability to pass a physical exam at time of hire.
• Must pass a thorough criminal background check and drug screen at time of hire.

Rate of Pay: $15.00

• Acts as an onsite representative of the department's basketball league to enforce facility rules and policies at Marietta City Schools locations and Custer Park Sports & Fitness Center to the participants, spectators, officials, and other staff. Professional demeanor is expected when dealing with all involved in the program.
• Gathers and disseminates schedules, standings, game line-ups and other information.
• Works with Marietta City Schools and Custer Park Sports & Fitness Center onsite employees to ensure that the facility and all equipment is secure before leaving. Responsible for unlocking and locking facilities as needed.
• Work locations include Marietta City Schools locations and Custer Park Sports & Fitness Center.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Must be PRE-APPROVED by the Marietta City School System before beginning work.
• Must be familiar with the school facilities and the rules and regulations associated with the use of that facility.
• Knowledge of the rules and regulations of basketball.
• Knowledge of care and use of equipment and supplies.
• Ability to maintain discipline of a group including crowd control and to control recreation activities.
• Ability to accept responsibility and exercise judgment.
• Ability to interact with the public in an effective and courteous manner.
• Must be in good physical condition, with the ability to pass a physical exam at time of hire.
• Must be able to pass a thorough criminal background check and drug screen at time of hire.
• Work is performed in a gymnasium, normally standing or walking.
