Job summary

The Department of Elections in the City and County of San Francisco seeks seasonal Ballot Processing Junior Clerks to support ballot processing during peak election periods. Qualifications

• Six months of clerical experience including handling of records, mail, and basic office procedures.
• Ability to follow written instructions and processing procedures.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in repetitive ballot-processing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform ballot sorting, backfolding, extraction, and other ballot-preparation tasks.
• Open and process vote-by-mail and provisional ballot envelopes.
• Prepare ballots for scanning and tabulation and assist with ballot adjudication as verifier/reader.
• Move and organize ballots and election materials between processing areas.
• Maintain routine processing counts, logs, and basic documentation.
