Job summary

Roxbury Community College is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach to support the development and success of the college's softball program. You will work closely with the Head Coach and Athletics Department to develop student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally, assisting with practices, game prep, recruiting, and team management.

Qualifications

Experience playing and/or coaching softball.
Knowledge of softball skills, strategy, and game management.
Ability to communicate effectively with college-aged student athletes.
Ability to collaborate with Head Coach, Athletics Dept, and community partners.
Commitment to student-athlete development and academic success.
Ability to attend practices, games, and recruiting events.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily practices, workouts, and team activities.
Teach and develop fundamental softball skills (hitting, pitching, catching, throwing, fielding, baserunning).
Assist with offensive and defensive game planning and preparation.
Assist with recruiting prospective student-athletes and maintain relationships with local programs.
Follow all applicable policies and regulations within the college and athletics department.
Assist with equipment organization, field prep, uniforms, inventory, and related duties.
