We are looking to add Seasonal Animal Care Attendants to our team at Ruff Housing Cary!

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

  • Support the Mission, Vision, and Values of Destination Pet.
  • Sanitize/disinfect pet enclosures and general boarding areas.
  • Provide clean bedding and ensure pet guests have clean water at all times.
  • Ensure each pet receives the correct type and quantity of food for each meal and maintain cleanliness of food prep areas.
  • Monitor and accurately chart consumption and elimination of every pet guest; report concerns to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Visually check pet guests for safety and well-being throughout the day.
  • Supervise group play for dogs and/or individual activities for pet guests as required.
  • Assist with bathing and brushing of canine guests as needed.
  • Check and clean up excrement from enclosures and other areas throughout the day.
  • Monitor pet belongings; clean as needed; ensure return of belongings to owners. Assist with carrying pet belongings to storage, front desk, or customers as needed.
  • Perform daily laundering of pet bedding and towels.

REQUIREMENTS:

Expertise & Experience:

  • Must be a pet enthusiast – pets are part of our family!
  • Professional animal care/kennel experience preferred.
  • Maintain a professional manner at all times.
  • Open to Entry Level applicants. High school/College students and teenagers 16+ encouraged to apply.

Physical:

  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Able to be on feet for the duration of shifts.
  • Capable of standing, walking, and climbing stairs frequently.
  • Comfortable handling dogs on leashes.
  • Able to work in environments with disinfectants, animal dander, and excretions.

REPORTS TO: General Manager

PAY: $13.00 - $15.00/hour + tips
