Job summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a deicing technician in Windsor Locks, CT. You will perform aircraft deicing operations outdoors, handle large vehicles and fluid accounting, and communicate with flight crews and dispatch while upholding safety protocols.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work in all weather conditions. A flexible schedule and physical stamina are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent education/experience.
• Possess/maintain a valid Driver's License and FAA airport identifications/seals or authorizations.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to work at heights up to 40 feet.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Experience driving large, heavy equipment preferred.
• Able to lift/move up to 70 lbs.
• Flexible schedule to meet airline operations.

Responsibilities

• Check aircraft for leading edge ice and frost.
• Apply Deice Fluid Type 1 or Type 4 to wings, fuselage, and tail.
• Drive large, heavy vehicles around aircraft during deicing.
• Maintain accurate accounting of deicing fluid transactions.
• Perform daily quality control checks on equipment and vehicles.
• Operate headset/radio for ground crew communications.
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols.
• Meet station attendance and tardiness standards.
