Job summary

The Inland Group of Companies at DSM is hiring a Deicing Equipment Mechanic for a part-time seasonal role at Des Moines Airport. You will maintain deicing gear, GSE, service vehicles and related facility equipment to keep operations safe and reliable.

You’ll perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshoot issues, keep accurate records and assist with aircraft de/anti-icing tasks as needed. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years in maintenance, and ability to read

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of experience in a maintenance field, with mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain and repair deicing equipment, GSE, vehicles, pumps, hoses and other equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections and equipment checks, and maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Communicate equipment status, outstanding repairs and expected completion timelines with team members and management.
• Identify parts and materials needed for repairs, maintain appropriate inventory and assist with ordering parts and supplies.
• Prepare equipment for de/anti-icing operations, including fueling trucks, servicing equipment and completing required pre-season and pre-event checks.
• When needed, assist Operations with aircraft de/anti-icing, aircraft marshalling, radio communications, pad shutdown procedures, inspections and required documentation.
