Job summary

Luzerne County Community College seeks a Seasonal SHINE program teacher to support after-school programming at the center. You will implement the curriculum, run 3-hour daily sessions after the school day, and develop project-based activities aligned to student needs under the Lead Teacher's guidance.

Responsibilities include assisting with dinner service, homework support, family engagement, and ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment; you will log contacts and participate in safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field with teaching certification.
• Minimum one year of teaching experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and families.

Responsibilities

• Implement the established curriculum and SHINE activities for developmentally appropriate learning.
• Assist with dinner service and support homework, character development and enrichment activities.
• Track daily attendance and submit weekly reports to SHINE office staff.
• Conduct monthly safety drills and participate in mandatory staff meetings.
• Communicate with parents about behavior, events, attendance and SHINE news.
• Support family engagement activities and help create a positive, inclusive environment.
