Job description

This role is based REMOTE, but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Warren, MI - Cadillac Tower, you are expected to report to that location three times a week at minimum. This job may be eligible for relocation.

The Search Strategy Manager is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the in-house paid search team, driving its success, and supporting the Search Strategy Lead in key business objectives and projects. This role requires a deep understanding of paid search, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to develop innovative strategies and guide the team in implementation. The Manager will lead the SEM team, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure paid search efforts align with overall business objectives. Independent judgment on strategy and activation is expected based on professional knowledge.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Strategy Development & Execution: Develop and implement paid search strategies aligned with business goals. Oversee operational plans, analyze data, and resolve issues. Create programs and strategies to meet objectives.
  2. Team Leadership & Mentorship: Oversee the SEM team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback. Communicate effectively across teams, listen actively, and respond to concerns. Promote cooperation, mentor junior employees, and make intentional hiring decisions. Recognize and reward development.
  3. Stakeholder Management: Manage key stakeholder relationships, provide strategic recommendations, and handle challenges independently, developing comprehensive plans.
  4. Budget Management & Forecasting: Manage paid search budgets, forecast performance, and ensure resource efficiency.
  5. Performance Analysis & Reporting: Analyze program performance, identify trends, and provide insights to stakeholders.
  6. Innovation & Best Practices: Stay current with paid search trends, implement new strategies, and lead cross-team efforts. Take responsibility and be accountable for goals, addressing issues innovatively.
  7. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other marketing teams for integrated efforts, develop solutions, and lead by example.
  8. Stretch Projects & Challenges: Analyze broad challenges, break them into initiatives, and drive process improvements. Overcome differing opinions and promote change.
  9. Independent & Cross Team Leadership: Provide technical expertise, support team interactions, and build relationships with senior partners, using data to demonstrate value.
  10. AI Knowledge & Understanding: Develop understanding of AI's impact on search, adapt strategies, and test new opportunities with a critical eye and search expertise.
