Seamstress / Laundry Worker at St. Luke Health Services

Responsibilities:
  1. Follow laundry schedules and instructions from supervisors and policies.
  2. Gather items needing labeling or repair.
  3. Create labels for sewing.
  4. Deliver labeled and repaired items to residents, leaving proper documentation.
  5. Maintain a folder of resident clothing records.
  6. Collect, sort, and weigh soiled laundry and linens.
  7. Sort laundry for stain removal or special treatment.
  8. Wash, fold, and distribute laundry as per policies.
  9. Operate washers and dryers.
  10. Perform sewing, mending, and alteration tasks.
  11. Assist in emergency distribution of laundry items.
  12. Perform other duties as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications:
  • Experience or training in sewing preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Good tactful communication skills.
  • Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment safely.
  • Knowledge of sewing, mending, and labeling.
  • Ability to maintain and update files.
  • Good work record if previously employed.
