Job summary

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics is seeking a Seafreight Export Coordinator in Houston to coordinate shipments and ensure service commitments meet client requirements. You will liaise with customers, vendors, and government agencies for all seafreight export activities.

The role requires 1–3 years in freight forwarding, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with MS Office and Incoterms. Collaboration with teams will drive profitability and compliance, with a focus on accurate documentation

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1–3 years freight forwarding experience preferred
• Industry courses are an asset

Responsibilities

• Manage shipment-level communication with customers, carriers and vendors
• Process shipments per SOPs, regulatory and customer requirements
• Perform pre-transport credit checks and booking alignments
• Enter bookings according to SLAs and routing guides to maximize profitability
• Schedule bookings for recurring customers to ensure capacity
• Dispatch pickups or coordinate with shippers for non-Hellmann pickups
• Obtain insurance purchase requests when needed
• Secure all required commercial and regulatory documents
• Verify DPS screening for addresses/contacts
• Send shipping instructions to carriers before cut-off
• Confirm additional charges to customers to avoid disputes
• Maintain milestone tracking within area of responsibility
• Create Master Agent Settlement/Profit Share invoices
• Archive documents and audit files for accuracy
• Escalate carrier issues to supervisor and discuss non-standard pricing
