Job summary

ShopRite’s Sparta store in New Jersey is seeking a Seafood Clerk to operate the Seafood Department and deliver great customer experience. You will prepare and pack fresh and frozen seafood according to department standards, greet customers, and maintain accurate product rotation and labeling.

The role requires ability to read and follow procedures, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs. Prior customer service and knowledge of seafood varieties are a plus; HS diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet all Customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Follow approved procedures for receiving, code-dating, preparing, storing, price-marking, scaling, and restocking products to ensure quality protection, accuracy and product rotation.
• Be knowledgeable about seafood products, differentiate varieties, and assist in maintaining freshness and quality.
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Stand at work station for the duration of the shift and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
