Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Seafood Service Clerk to support the Seafood Department with friendly customer service and hands-on merchandising. The role requires wrapping, trimming, stocking, labeling, and maintaining freshness and sanitation in a fast-paced setting.

This non-exempt position emphasizes teamwork, dependable attendance, and consistent customer care to ensure a positive shopping experience for customers and coworkers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Food Safety training; Six months previous related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Answers the telephone promptly when called upon, and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call including taking customer orders.
• Wraps, weighs, and labels product.
• Reviews the status and appearance of the food for freshness, then stocks cases or rotates product.
• Understands and practices proper sanitation procedures and ensures the work area is always clean and neat.
