Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the following duties, among others:

1. Keeping the seafood area well-stocked and appealing to meet customer needs. Greeting customers, making suggestions, providing seafood preparation information, taking future delivery orders, and assisting with special requests. Resolving customer concerns promptly and courteously.
2. Setting up displays, rotating products, ensuring seafood freshness, proper pricing, and signage. Handling spoiled, damaged, or near-expiry products according to company standards. Removing non-saleable products to maintain quality.
3. Weighing, wrapping merchandise, and applying price and weight stickers. Maintaining logs to track freshness and quality. Adhering to food safety and personal safety codes when handling products and using kitchen tools.
4. Maintaining sanitation of the department by following cleaning schedules and departmental guidelines, ensuring work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases are clean and compliant with health and OSHA standards. Properly disposing of trash.
5. Assisting the manager with inventory control through proper ordering, minimizing losses by returning products to refrigeration, and reporting shortages or overages.
6. Assisting with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking down, and storing deliveries, possibly using a power or hand jack if trained. Training is provided.
7. Assisting with baling cardboard or related duties if trained. Training is provided.
8. Ensuring the department and store function smoothly through cooperation with coworkers and superiors. Continuously improving job performance.
9. Using all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and sponsored footwear.
10. Performing other departmental duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without accommodations. Requirements include:

• High school diploma or GED, or working toward one. No prior experience required.
